Meet our Staff

Margaret, is our oldest employee. She has been with the office since they opened in 2000. She is the office manager and takes great pride in all of our patients. She likes to participate in all types of crafts and drawing activities. One of her future desires is to learn how to draw caricatures.

Heather, is one of our few staff members native to Charlotte! She is a certified orthodontic assistant with over 11 years of experience. She has been with Dr. Dunbar since 2003! Her free time is spent with her son Kaleb, camping ,fishing, and going to her new church, Elevation.

Karen, who joined our staff in 2006, has many years of medical and dental experience. She thoroughly enjoys seeing our patient's beautiful smiles firsthand as part of our clerical staff. Her three grown children and two grand "Angels" are a constant source of enjoyment in her life. When not working, Karen can be found lounging by the pool with a book, at the Rodeo or even riding a motorcycle!

Leila, has been with us since 2006 and has been a wonderful addition to our clerical team. She is originally from South America and has been part of the Charlotte community for several years now. Leila has many years behind her working in the dental field. She has 2 children and enjoys her time driving her kids to their activities.

Judith, came to us from Lima, Peru and is a graduate of Pharmaceutical Education. She has more than six years experience in the dental field. Judith is the mother of two little girls who are the light of her life. She enjoys decorating her home, doing yard work, and spending time with her family.

Jose', has been at our office since 2007 and is a registered dentist from Peru! He trained in the orthodontic field in Brazil and has been working in the dental field for 18 years. Jose is the proud father of three children. In addition to playing with his kids, Jose enjoys cycling and using his skills as a photographer.

Michelle, is the newest member to our clinical staff! She joined our team in December, coming on board as a certified orthodontic assistant with over 9 years experience in the dental field. When not working, Michelle enjoys spending her time getting involved in church activities and relaxing with her family and friends. WELCOME MICHELLE!!
Shelley, has returned to our office after a brief relocation to Arizona. She was originally employed with our office in 2000 when we first opened our practice. She then moved to Maricopa, AZ (just outside of Phoenix) where she had been for the last 30 months. She has two children, Chelsea and Scotty, and her kitties. She missed family and friends here and needed to come home! Shelley started working in the orthodontic field after graduating from Dental Assisting School in Pittsburgh, PA in 1990. The orthodontic part of dentistry has always been her passion. She enjoys working out, walking, and spending time with her kids, friends, and family. We are happy to have her back with us.

Jill, joined our practice in 2008, having transferred down from the Boston area. She has been in the orthodontic field for 16 years with experience in both the clerical and clinical areas. Jill and her husband are the proud parents of three beautiful girls and their black lab, Sable. Outside of family time, Jill can be found enjoying a good book or running.

Charlene, has been with our office since 2006. She is married with two sons. She works part time on Mondays and Fridays and is a valuable asset to our staff. She came to us with no administrative experience but has learned very quickly. She loves the outdoors, renting movies, and spending as much time as possible with her family.
